Your Survival Drive Is Sabotaging Your Success

Audree: So we're minding our own
business in our living room talking

Michael: One thing leads to another.

Audree: And then we
have to put the mic on.

Michael: Mm.

' Audree: Cause it's a good conversation.

So I'm, I'm not gonna preempt anything.

What I was saying was that you know how

We've discovered, like, all behavior
and everything stems from this need

to survive, like the survival mode

Maybe we haven't
mentioned it on a podcast.

I have no idea.

But we were talking about it the other
day, like, y- you know, like why would

we, why do we put an article on LinkedIn?

Why do we, you know, post on Facebook?

I'm not on Facebook, but like why do
we put ourselves out in the world?

And, and the only reason is this need to
be seen or to be heard is for survival.

Yeah.

Like, we're selling something or
we wanna be hired somewhere or, or-

Michael: Sell our book or-

Audree: You know

… Michael: sell our cour- you know.

Audree: Right.

Even this podcast, it's like, oh, we
gotta put ourselves out there, you know?

It's like that's the, the general advice

Mmm, like there was this contemplation
the other day of like if we didn't need

to make money, would we be doing this?

And there's this, oh, Justin, oh, well,
we wanna talk about the evolutionary

journey for humanity and blah,
blah, blah, and there's always this

other little thing about survival

And then if you go deeper in relationship,
all the, all the subconscious behavior

patterns or, or the conscious behavior
patterns of connection, betrayal of

self for a connection, manipulation.

You know, it's like somewhere
on the evolutionary journey you

start to become aware of this

What if you call it the background
radiation of why you do what you do?

Michael: Yeah, that for me, like
the background radiation's more

just about, uh, like all the kind
of the ongoing fear, ongoing-

Audree: Okay, that's
what I was getting at.

Why the fear?

The fear is about survival.

The fear is about survival
because there's a separation.

There's this, there's
this, "Oh, I'm separate.

Oh, I'm alone.

Oh, I have to survive."

Michael: Yeah, so it, it's across … I
mean, it's probably worth just clarifying.

So survival is across all dimensions.

It's like, "Oh, I need, I need this love.

I need this relationship to-"

Audree: I need food.

I

Michael: need water.

I need food, yeah.

I need, I- I

Audree: need shelter.

I need clothing.

Michael: I need money.

I need- I need a job

yeah, I need … Right?

I need, you know, connection from friends.

I need … Like, you know, if you feel
like anything or you feel like a lack in

your life, that's survival right there.

Audree: Mm-hmm.

Michael: Yeah, so.

Audree: And a- and, and f- and it creates
fear in the, in the being, like in the

individual, 'cause we're individuals.

And so the conversation that we're having
this morning was about when you, when

you start to have these experiences
of being one in wholeness, and we

were talking about we're going through
this transformation within the mind

And there's this realization or this
pull into universal mind and what that is

And you can, you can actually…

So what came up today for me was
having these awarenesses and insights

that separation is part of creation.

Everything separates.

The tree starts from one seed.

A f- the embryo starts from, from the egg
that's fertilized and grows into a baby.

Like, somebody works in an
organization and has an idea,

and leaves the organization, and
starts their own organization.

I mean, these are just the thoughts
that ran through my, through my head.

Um, you know, somebody leaves their
family in a country and migrates to

another country, and starts their
own family and a different life

The baby grows, lives in the home, leaves
to go to college, then leaves and gets

their apartment and starts their own life.

We always-- There's always
this part of creation

that starts as one and, and moves
out and separates and we have this

perception that separation is bad

Like all of the lack of psychological
safety, all the undertones of

survival-based mechanisms and the
fear that comes from that because

we've separated from the one

And so we, so I'm just having this
deep awareness of the perception of

The very nature of creation is to
move from the void out and separate.

Yet we feel like that's bad, but it's the
natural phenomenon of creation itself.

So why is there a perception that
we've done something wrong or that

We're not whole or we're not worthy
or we're, there's this self-punishment

or self-hatred because we have
this sense of being separate

And when you start to do a lot of
meditation or you're on this evolutionary

journey, what happens is you start
to understand or have the visceral

experience that you've never been separate

That everything is all right there

You are part of the whole.

You are one with the universe.

And at the same time, we're
living as individualized beings

in bodies, so we are separate.

There's nothing wrong with separation

Part of the, kind of the
natural order of the universe

So there's this moment where,
let's say you've left your family.

Everybody does in some way or another.

Even if it's you move out of your father's
house but you live down the street,

you're still separated from your family.

And there's this kinda shame or
guilt maybe you're not aware of

Or even that you moved away from
your family, so there's this

fear because you've separated
and you're on your own now?

Like this is like the deep, deep,
deep awareness of these kind of these

hidden little mechanisms or triggers
or like hooks that, that kind of

react in your field to cause

self-sabotage or self-hatred or damage

Or that would create a, a, a
mechanism of, of a lack of success.

Like you, you would block your success
because these little hidden things.

Yet you're just doing what
you're supposed to be doing

You're following the natural
rhythm and flow of creation.

It's part of the mechanics of creation

Michael: All right, so what was
coming up for me as you're talking

about this right now is the, the
survival drive and how that plays out

in relationships and how that spawns
basically a lot of the craziness in

our lives that we create for ourselves.

Audree: Mm-hmm.

If

Michael: you look at, you know, any
relationship, whether with parents or

with children or with a, a partner or,
you know, you know, you know, pick your

f-friends, you know, whatever situation

this survival-based dependency
or need for that relationship

leads to all sorts of gaming and-
Walking on eggs … manipulation and

strategy of like, "Well, oh, I can't do
this because this will upset so and so.

I can't be myself.

I can't do what I'm called to do,
can't do what I wanna do because

of how it's gonna impact, you know,
children, parents, friend-" Like, you

Audree: know- My family, right.

Michael: Yeah, right.

That's, that's- And, and, like,
you know, if you think about it,

everybody has you in the box, the box
of their perspective of who you are.

And if you try to stray outside of
that box, then the, you know, then that

creates a tension in those relationships.

And so there's this, this glue that you've
glued yourself into, not because those

people are in your life, not because
you care about the relationship, but

bec- because you're ta- trying to take
responsibility for their situation.

And one of the things that has been
coming up for us, or came up recently,

was swimming in your own lane.

You know, when you're swimming
in your own lane, you're doing

you, beautiful, beautiful you.

And you're not trying to
look after anybody else.

You're not trying to, you know, make sure
that they're happy and, you know, solve

for their emotional issues and so on.

But what happens is, and, and
I'm seeing this, you know, in-

Audree: Oh, but Michael,
that's so selfish.

Michael: So, so- So what I'm seeing is
that this, what we try to do to manage

their emotions, their states, the
relationship, manage the relationship,

figure out how, how to compromise and do
it all in, is actually, is actually all

survival-based because we, we believe
that we need that be- Believe The Lie.

Mm-hmm.

That relationship, that whatever,
you know, perspective of love

or affection or whatever, that
connection is needed for survival.

And so if you look at it all, it's,
it's this deep, you know, it all

points to what is going on there as
well in, within our psyche, this deep

emptiness, this deep, um, you know,
insecurity, lack of psychological

safety of our own beingness- Oh my God

of just being okay.

You wanna hear- So that's what,
that's what's coming up for me when

Audree: I'm- You wanna
know the perfect example?

We just watched the new season
of Ted Lasso, which his whole

thing is believe, be the lie.

Mm-hmm.

And he moves back to Kansas City

to be with his son, and he's working as
an assistant manager at a grocery store

In the vanilla box, you know

M- uh, uh, neighbor, you know,
neighborhood, suburban, you know

Like he's just kind of boxed
in to a vanilla box house in a

neighborhood where all
the houses look the same.

Like, it's just like that such a
like a brilliant, brilliant example.

And he's miserable, but he thinks
he's doing right by his family

and his, his son and his kids.

And not to say that connection is
wrong or bad, you know, but we have

this, we block ourselves from our,
from, you know, like betrayal of self

or connection because of the wonkiness

Because of the connection

Michael: Right.

So then if you look at it,
well, then what's going on

with the typical human being?

It's like we're in layers
and layers of self-deception.

We're in self-deception about
the emptiness in our being.

We're in self-deception about that's
what's fueling the need for relationship.

We're in self-deception around,
you know, our betrayal of our

own self for a connection.

We're in denial of that
because we need the connection.

Pr- we think we need the
connection for survival.

Audree: We're in self-deception-

Michael: And then, and then, and then, and
then we're, you know, and then we're doing

all these games to try to get, you know,
the other person to, you know, like us

or, or whatever the thing is or, you know.

A- and it's just like, w- I mean,
it's just layer after layer just- But

Audree: we only like people that are like
us We only like people that think like

us, that look like us, that behave like us

Michael: Which, which is again,
this whole layer of self-deception,

'cause everyone's unique.

Audree: Yeah

Michael: Everyone has a
completely unique incarnational

imprint from their human design.

And so there is no people like me.

So what, what, what…

Oh, I'm just getting this now.

What, what the, you know, people
like me, when people form these,

you know, um, these kinda false
identities, these e- ego-based

identities of, "Well, oh, I, I do this.

I ha- I have this hobby," or, "I do
this thing," or, "I play these games,"

or, "I, you know, I, you know, I-"

" Audree: I'm in this political

Michael: movement," or Yeah,
I, I like, you know, I like, I,

you know, I'm a foodie or, you
know, whatever it is Mm-hmm.

Audree: Mm-hmm

Michael: It's all about creating a s-
for the s- because of the fear, the

separation, creating a sense of belonging

Audree: Mm-hmm

Michael: Belonging to create the,
the, this false sense of, of, of…

Well, you know, here's the weird
thing, is that the separated

mind … So, so, so what are we doing?

So survival, the root of it is, is
this lack of safety, this, this,

this, this, this terror and fear.

Um, and that's what's
driving the whole survival.

And so when we look at it, you know, all
the things we're doing are for belonging.

The, the, the connection with family,
the connection with friends, the, you

know, the, you know, belonging to a
social, a, like a certain identity.

Mm-hmm.

"Oh, I'm a, I'm a, you know, this
kind of person," or, "I'm this

political party, this political party."

And so, you know, looking at that,
that's why you see, you know, things

like politics or religion are so
charged because people's sense of

identity, their, their false sense
of security is based around that.

And, you know, it's kind
of, it's interesting.

It's interesting because from the,
the view of the separated psyche,

those things do afford a level of
increased psychological safety.

However, those things are also the
very things that preventing you from

evolving to your truth and actually
getting the real psychological safety

and the stability within your own
being as your own sovereign being.

And so what I'm seeing here is that
all of those belongings and all of

those relationships What they're
doing is they're actually saying,

"I don't want true sovereignty.

I do not want that.

I wanna have this, this
other thing over here-

' Audree: Cause it's safe

… Michael: this connection, 'cause it
gives me this feeling of s- security,

even though I don't actually feel
secure when I have it, but it feels

better than I did when I didn't."

And so we're just dealing, like, one layer
of shit, which is the human experience,

for a slightly different layer of shit.

Because all the, all the
fears are still there.

Nothing really changes.

But we're believing, "Oh, this'll be good.

Oh, if I only have this relationship,
if I only have blah, blah, blah."

But our psychological experience
doesn't change after it.

And so that's where there's … The
whole thing is actually just an

absolute lie, so there is no actual
benefit from it other than we move

to a layer of self-deception where
we're lying to ourselves even deeper.

Audree: You know what I, I, what comes
to mind is, is like, uh, the hiring

process at Google back in the day when
they were creating great teams, and

they would bring somebody in and, and
they would kind of, um, shadow through

different teams and with different people.

And, you know, I don't know this for
a fact, I'm just wondering, like,

what, what is the c- what was the
criteria that made a great team?

Was it everybody was the same, or
everybody was totally different, so

that when different people all from
different walks of life and, and

different educational experiences and
different life experiences or work

experiences, when they came together to
sit at a table to create, were they all

the same, or were they all different?

Because when … I, I feel like
when they're all different types

of people coming together, that's
what helps amazing creation, and

you get different perspectives.

If everybody's the same and has the
same perspective and the same culture

and the same background and the same
education and blah, blah, blah, blah,

blah, how do you create something
unique when there's all this sameness?

That's what comes to my mind

Michael: Right.

And then moving to a corporate perspective
Where I s- I've, I've seen this for,

you know, pretty much my whole career,
is this, uh, this layer of death,

call it a layer of death, that larger
organizations create in the name of

consistency, in the name of standards.

Mm-hmm.

And, you know, the awareness that
increased as I went through my career

and experienced this, is that it
actually stifled the creativity,

the innovation, the possibility.

Because what it said is, it says, "You
know, you know, we have, you know, 20,000

people working here, and they're doing
many different kinds of job functions

and roles- It's too scary … and
many different kinds of things.

And you know what?

Audree: We need to

Michael: mitigate the risk.

We, we need to, we need to make sure that
everyone uses the same standardized tools.

Like, what?

People are doing different
things in different departments,

have different needs.

If there was truly a group responsible
for curating that, wouldn't they

be listening to those groups to
find out what they needed to be

extraordinary in their function?

And that's not how it works.

And it's just like the whole structure
of, of uni- of, you know, traditional

organizations is this death by sameness.

And, you know, even, you know,
I remember, you know, many, many

conversations over, over, over decades
of, like, there's not even a question

about, "Well, what do you mean?

Is the standardization
not the right thing to do?

Like, what are you talking about?"

And I'm like, it's just so deeply
entrenched and, and ingrained that,

you know, we wanna be around the
people who have the same political

views, the same religious views,
the same cultural views, right?

That's where we feel safe.

And so what we can see is that this, this,
this allegiance to the survival-based

sameness as a false sense of security
is what's, uh, you know, really driving,

you know, the, the lack of success
and the challenge that we experience

personally or organizationally.

You know

Audree: what's, what's really interesting
is, is that there were, you know, uh,

successful innovations in, in, um,
mechanical ways of doing things, such

as, you know, um, Ford and the Model T
and the, the assembly line for the car.

That's, like, a standardized practice
that, that made them successful.

McDonald's took this standardized
practice of serving fast food, you know?

Or, you know, making the
shake, and the shake was the…

The milkshake was the same every
single time, and there was this…

Somebody invented this kind of, like,
a way to make, like, five shakes at

one time, and everything was the same.

So there were, like, these, in industry,
there were these standardized practices

for mechanical things, not people.

You know, but then what they did was then
they standardized practices of how to do

certain jobs so that they could hire the,
the, the least educated people so they

could pay low wages, and then they just,
you know, they, they hired these people,

and they read the procedure book, and
then they were able to, to do the work.

And it was like that kind of…

What happened was that these
organizations became very, very

successful, yet they took out the…

They used standardized practices
as safe, as being able to hire,

you know, hire and train people

Yet they took out or they, you know,
they kind of vanilla-ized or put this

box around things to, for safety, for
scaling, for large, um, amounts of

success, like scaling, you know, globally.

Like look at McDonald's.

Um

And they, and, and people just
thought, "Oh, this is how we do things.

This is how we become successful."

And it, it, it took away the uniqueness.

It took away the creativity.

It took away the, the
intelligence of the individual.

It stripped all that away

And, and, and kind of it's
like don't think for yourself.

I mean, like even the school
system itself has, has done that

And now they're starting to, to
see that there's behavior issues

in the school system, starting to.

They-- This has been for a very long time.

And it's like, I remember when
my kids were in school, and

this was back in the early 2000s

They started giving like kids like bouncy
balls to sit on or you know, like things

to, to use in their hand because they
couldn't sit in a circle on the rug

or they couldn't sit in a, in a desk.

It's like you start to see that these
children are trying to break out of

this kind of hardcore same-ism or these,
these structures of everybody doing the

same thing and, and the teacher, you
know, wanting r- to feel safe in the

room like the, you know, this controlled
instead of b- there being chaos or

creativity, whatever you wanna call it.

It was like this, "No,
you have to sit still.

You have to listen here.

You have to do what I say."

Michael: How did we get here?

Audree: What's going on?

Michael: Just being still

Audree: Mm-hmm

Well, it makes me very uncomfortable.

You have to be bouncing around with me.

Michael: Good.

Audree: Just kidding

Michael: So it would come
back to the core of it

It's getting right with ourselves
and being really honest about

what comes up for us with
relationships, the fear

the thoughts of, "Oh, I need to get
them," you know, "I, you know, how do I

m-manage this person's perspective of me?"

Like, that's the, uh, the entry point.

And, you know, what it's all pointing
to is the, the deep sense within your

own being of not being okay, right?

You know, I, I call- Right.

Audree: Self-sabotage for connection.

Michael: I, I, I called this the
black hole in my soul, and even

had a-- did a painting once kind
of describing, like, what…

And, and I remember with, um, you know,
cer- certain experiential retreats

I went to, it's like the-- when I'd
always look at what's going on, I

always came back to the same point.

The same point of, you know, and,
uh, it, it, it's not always the

same perspective for everyone.

Everyone's got a different flavor
of it if, you know, whether it's not

belonging or not feeling good enough.

And so

So what, what it means in coming,
becoming right with ourselves, being

honest with ourselves, and just
starting to say, "Well, well, yeah,

this is the, the, the book of my life.

This is what I'm being shown right now.

Not theoretical, not abstract,
very practical in my life.

I have this fear, I have this fear,
I have this feeling inside me of,

of unworthiness, shame, whatever.

Fill in the blank of
whatever the core thing."

And we go, "Oh yeah, that's the, that's
what's running my life right now."

And-

Audree: It's also the very thing
that's sabotaging your success.

So, uh, to, just to, uh, 'cause
I have a passion for this.

The reason why we're doing all of this,
the reason why you're having this deep

awareness is not for the sake of having
awareness or the sake of shifting

your consciousness to be in a higher
state of consciousness, or to be in

this peace and stillness and oneness.

It is actually the very thing
that's sabotaging your success-

Yeah … to improve your life.

Michael: Let's be clear.

It is how you are
sabotaging your own success.

Audree: Yes.

Or the success of others.

Michael: And the success of others.

'Cause everybody that you're
interacting in this pattern

with, you're also taking out.

So you're not helping your parents,
you're not helping your partner,

you're not helping your kids.

Audree: You're not
helping anybody at work.

Michael: That's why I said,
"Swim in your own lane."

Take responsibility f- and you, you
know, step one, admit your state of

functioning and then take action.

That's the evolutionary journey,
the choice to evolve, the choice

to say, "I do not want this pile
of shit of experiences in my being.

I want, I want to be free of this."

That's what the evolutionary journey is.

I wanna change the unconscious drivers
that are creating the life I want,

because no matter how amazing my
life is, I can imagine something even

more extraordinary that would be even
more enjoyable and fantastic for me.

Audree: Mm-hmm.

Michael: And so, you know,
we're-- Actually, this is tying

to the other, other thing that
was coming up this morning

which is this really profound i-insight
and experience I had around how awareness

is the primary mechanism of evolution

And

The mechanic is this

is that when you

choose to grow, whether, you know,
listening to this podcast, taking

a course, or doing something, or
transformational audio, light code,

whatever, it opens your awareness

It opens your awareness to a new level.

That's what the evolutionary journey
is, is about opening your awareness.

And when you have that greater
opened awareness, you can see the--

through the self-deception, you can
see the patterns that are running.

You can see into a deeper layer when--
and through that seeing, when you use,

you know, the correct tools, that's
what causes the letting go of it.

That is the structure.

That's why awareness.

Awareness is like this

is the light of our being that
we're unlocking that dissolves

the distorted structures of the
mind keeping us in limitation

And so what happens is there's two
aspects, and this is, I think, the,

the profound insight here to awareness.

One is that when we have some new
awareness, such as some new awareness

you might have now where you start to see
how you're trying to cure relationship

patterns, how you're not swimming
in your own lane- … how you're,

have this survival base coming up.

Like, there might be
some new awareness here.

When you're holding that aware- where
you're in self-deception and all of this,

you know, when you hold that awareness in
your being, there's an automatic process

of things opening up and dissolving.

And again, this may or be, may be
smaller or greater depending on your

level of self-mastery of tools like
Get Clear and, you know, other, other

technologies- Well- … of evolution.

Audree: That's

Michael: also- And let me finish.

Mm-hmm.

And what you're doing with your, you
know, whether you're doing evolution

energetics and your, your, your overall
state, that what's happening is that

unlock of awareness can create…

This is how you know if you're, y- you've,
you've, uh, stabilized your being to be

able to take this podcast in, is that
it'll, it'll just activate an automatic

dissolving of everything you're seeing
with that new awareness, with that new

kind of unlock of, of what's happening
in, in how you're experiencing creation.

It'll actually just dissolve those.

So if it doesn't dissolve it, it means
there's more, more evolution to do there.

The other thing that I got is that when we

take a course or we go further on this
journey, what's happening is there's

a, there's a greater level of awareness
that's unlocked that kind of opens up this

new stage, this new depth of unraveling
of the distortions within our system.

You know, all, re- all the…

You know, when I say distortions, I mean
all the, all the triangles, all the, the,

the trauma, all the, all the things that
are not the truth of what and who we are.

And so what we're doing is we're
really unwinding these perceptions,

misperceptions of what's going on.

And, and, and this is where it gets
all kind of tangled because there's a,

there's a physical component, there's an
energetic component, there's a opening

of awareness, and that the accelerated
journey is an integrated motion

through all three of those dimensions.

But awareness is the primer because at,
at the core of it, the root of it, is

this perception that we're separate,
which creates the survival, which creates

the fear, which creates all of that.

That's actually the
core of The whole deal.

That's why awareness is
the primary mechanism.

Audree: Right.

So, I- you mentioned trauma, and there's
some people here that have not had trauma.

Mm.

So we're not talking about
trauma in something huge.

We're also speaking to this deeper
patterns within the subconscious

of conditioning, societal
conditioning, that we don't- That is

Michael: trauma.

Audree: I know.

It's trauma, but people don't even
realize that they have it, and they

don't say, "Oh, I, you know, I had
a great family, I had a great family

life, I had a great childhood.

Nothing terrible has ever happened to me."

And, and, and, and so what I'm saying i-
is that you can't call it trauma for some

people because they can't connect to that.

Mm-hmm.

This isn't for people that
have had massive trauma.

This is for everyone.

We've all had some level of deep,
deep, deep psychological conditioning

and conditioned subconscious behavior
patterns that we don't even know we have.

That's why we need awareness.

And what we're talking about here is
the technology to shift consciousness.

There is a specific
technology, and it's ancient.

It's been used for a very long
time, just nobody talks about it.

Nobody … Everybody says awareness
or mindfulness or whatever.

Michael: Or meditation.

Audree: Or meditation.

But they don't, they don't
tell you what is actually the

technology behind the technique,
and that's what we're speaking to.

Because you need to have intention and
awareness, intentional awareness, so

you, it, with intention, you need to
understand the mechanics of creation,

basically how this shit works.

The other thing that I
wanna say here is that-

Um

In order to hold your awareness and really
see, this is where the grounding technique

comes in from evolutionary energetics.

Because if you're not stabilized and
connected, like your consciousness

If your consciousness or your energy
field, they're-- it's the same If

it's not deeply connected into a
structure that's gonna hold you

and keep you stabilized and
psychologically safe, it's very

difficult to see, to look, to
have that deeper awareness.

So that's why we, we
talk about energy work.

We talk about how and
what consciousness is.

Light, energy, consciousness,
it's all the same.

So we've added in and we speak about
the energy field because that is

a major component to holding you,
to doing this work intentionally.

The deeper you go into awareness,
the stronger you need to be held.

Your consciousness needs to be held

That's what I wanted to say

Self-mastery

And it's like, I think that she
pointed this out, Marianne Williamson

That quote

I don't remember it exactly, but
it's like when you shine your light

Michael: When you allow your light
to shine, you give permissions

for others to sh- shine.

Audree: Right.

See, when you're swimming in your
own lane, when you're taking full

ownership and responsibility and really
understanding the truth of what and who

you are, the nature, the very nature
of your being, and it could just be how

you're functioning, and it could just
be, "Oh, shoot, I'm just becoming very,

very aware that I am betraying myself,"
or, "I'm stopping myself from being

successful because I'm trying to connect
to my family or my partner or my friends."

Like, you start to notice these
subconscious behavior patterns that

are, that are creating limitation.

Michael: Mm-hmm.

So,

I think, uh, I think I've figured it out.

Audree: Wait, I'm not done yet.

Michael: Oh, okay.

Audree: Okay?

When you start to notice this, and
then you s- uh, just that, that very

awareness starts to dissolve those
behavior patterns, and you start to shine.

You start to remove … The,
the limitations just start

to fall away effortlessly

You're not hurting anybody else.

You're actually allowing people to, to
feel and sense and see your authenticness,

your-- the truth of what and who you are.

It gives them automatic
permission to do the same thing.

Now, some people might be offended by
it, or they might be repulsed by it, or

they might be triggered by it, and those
people are not there to support you, to

uplift you, and they need to fall away.

Or you need to have those
really, uh, to have those, um,

crucial conversations with them.

You know, if, like when they're
your parents or your f- your

kids or your family members or
dear, dear friends of yours.

You know, there's, there's this
compassion for others 'cause you can

also see their pain and suffering.

So it's, it's this--
There's a lot that happens.

It becomes very juicy and rich
and deep, and it's good stuff.

Doesn't mean that you have to change
your life completely, but your life

completely changes for the better.

You start to uplift yourself.

You uplift all those around you.

And the people that don't wanna be
uplifted, they just kind of-- They're

just there or they gently fade away

Or you just let them be who
they are and what they wanna do.

You're not worried about

You know, trying to help somebody
that doesn't wanna be helped

You're not trying to uplift others
that don't wanna be uplifted.

Mm.

You just let them be.

Michael: Yeah, I think that's
kind of the core of the whole

thing for me right there.

That within consciousness work
spiritual work there's this whole

thing about caring for others and
seva and doing things for others and

What my realization is in the last
week or so through this journey

is that that's all a big trap

Audree: Well, it works
for the organization.

Michael: It's, it's all just
a gigantic, gigantic trap.

You know, even, you know, the
psychological research, which is true and

exists, that, you know, if you go help
someone, you'll feel better than if you,

let's say, watch a TV show or a movie,

Audree: right?

Michael: That's

Audree: true.

Michael: It's true.

Now, h- but here's the deal, and
this comes back to, and we're,

I guess, in oneness, is like,
well, why are you doing that?

Why are you feeling better?

'Cause you're feeling better
for your own egoic self, for

your own separated self, right?

For y- y- for your own sense of
connection, for propping up your

psychological, you know, your
absent psychological safety, right?

So, so when we look at it,
all of that is the trap.

All of that is the trap.

And so-

Audree: W- and it doesn't mean you
don't have to volunteer or do the work.

It's just, you just be aware
of what's going on deeper.

I, I w-

Michael: I was going somewhere.

Oh,

Audree: okay.

Sorry.

Michael: I was just pausing
to collect my thoughts.

I, I think the, the reason I'm pausing
is because there's something coming in.

Audree: Got it.

Michael: So somebody who's
egotistical only thinks about

themselves and they're not self-aware
at all and they're not evolving.

That's somebody who's egotistical.

What we're speaking about here is
somebody who loves themself enough to

focus on their own evolution and not
be concerned about other people's drama

And I think really that's the message here

Is to say yes to loving yourself, yes to
your own evolution, yes to looking inward.

So it's not that you're, you know, let's
say you're gonna do something 'cause

it's c- correct for you, or your, you
know, your, uh, generator and your

sacral says, "Yes, go do this thing."

You do it.

You, you understand that it'll have
an impact on this person, possibly.

However, that's not your concern.

You can still be compassionate with
the person, supportive of the person.

However, you love them enough, and
this is the really confusing thing,

because it's so different from the, uh,
the, the, the separated perspective.

You love them enough to have their drama.

Like you respect them as a sovereign being
to have their fear, have their anger,

have their thing, and you just do you.

You just do, how is that, how is
their behavior a problem for you?

How is their behavior triggering you?

And you work on you, right?

So this is the difference, is you're not
trying to manage the other person, so

you don't have to deal with your drama.

You're okay with them having their drama.

This is what we're talking about.

This is the journey here.

You're okay with them having
their drama, and you just…

You're not trying to solve for them or fix
them or stop them from having their drama.

That's on them if they
wanna stop it or not.

You're doing you.

You're working through where you're
getting activated, where you're

getting triggered, where you're
disturbed that they're in their drama.

Like can you be at peace?

This is your inner work.

This is the journey.

Can you be in your own lane?

Can you be 100% in peace with everybody
around you in their own drama, and

let them do that because that…

They're sovereign beings, and that's
what they want for themselves.

Can you do that?

Are you ready to swim in your own lane?

Are you ready to let other people be free?

That's what freedom is.

That's what love is.

Love is freedom.

Love is letting other people
be and do whatever they do.

Low frequency, high frequency,
whatever they do, it's not on you.

It's on them for what they
wanna create for their reality.

It's not on you.

And this, this desperate, and this is
the, the, the, the self-deception here,

the desperate need that we ever have to
help anybody else is just the desperate

need to complete our own journey.

So every place that you wanna
help someone else, look deeper.

It's actually the call for you to
help your own being, to put the

oxygen mask on yourself first,
and this is the deeper truth.

You cannot help anyone else
until you've helped yourself.

And if you have this feel, "Oh, I really
need to help this person," that's the

big clue you need to help yourself right
away in that moment because you're out

of control, and your mind is running the
show in low frequency, and you have a

choice to do something about it or not.

Audree: Do you have a charge?

Michael: There's something kind of
flowing- Yeah … through my being.

It's like, it…

Well, I, I feel like, like this
is where I've been so stuck

Audree: How have you been s- on,
on which end have you been stuck?

Needing help and having somebody bail you
out, or you bailing somebody else out?

Michael: I think it's the, this
kind of like this desperate need

to try to help other people.

Audree: Are you sure about that?

Michael: Yeah.

Well, maybe it's the reverse.

Well, that actually has to be
the reverse 'cause the mechanic

So just bringing it back to my own,
own experience right now, every moment

is the reflection of the
mind in its distortion

Audree: said if we shifted our perspection
, our perspective on separation,

instead of it being bad or I'm alone
or I'm by myself or fear of survival

Right?

The truth is, is that when we were born,
so we were held in the womb and we were

fed and cared for, and then all of a
sudden we were birthed out into the world.

That was the first moment of our
separation as a physical being

And all of a sudden it was bright and cold
and loud and there was no automatic food.

We were hungry.

Yet we've chosen, we've chosen this.

Like you walked away from your family.

I walked away from my family.

We-- That's what we do.

That's the nature of being in a physical
body, is to go out into the world and

have an experience and be on our own

Yeah, just noticing, you know,
why are you making a connection?

Because you really like that
person you don't need them

But you think they're
interesting and of value

That's why you connect

You know, why are you
working for the organization?

Because you love their evolutionary
purpose or you just need a job?

You know, there's a difference
in how we move in the world.

Or just noticing.

You don't have to admit it to
anybody else, but just noticing

why do you do what you do?

Who are you?

Why are you?

What are you

And being authentic internally
authentic with yourself

That stops the sabotage.

When you can go that deep and look and
have awareness, might be painful to look

But you end up having compassion,
patience for your own being,

self-love for your own being.

"Oh yeah, there it is.

Oh, that's why I do that thing."

And you just love yourself in that thing

starts to shift

You're not-- You don't
sabotage yourself anymore.

You're not wonky

I always say, like, you don't
stop loving your children

because they do certain things.

You know?

You don't stop loving yourself

Takes a lot of courage
to look, to be aware

But that awareness, like, like
what Michael described, is the

technology to shift consciousness

It automatically starts to break down
those subconscious behavior patterns

Automatically.

It's the genius of this work

And the more you start to have
awareness, the deeper you go on your

evolutionary journey because you want to.

You want to love yourself.

You want to improve and
have an extraordinary life.

And as you shine

That's how you help others

Michael: Mm.

Yeah, through that authentic, loving
relationship, not with somebody outside

Audree: With yourself

Michael: With yourself

Audree: Mm-hmm

Michael: Loving your own being

And that's what this is about.

It's about saying yes to

your own being.

That's why the journey can feel so good
because you're coming back into the

wholeness, to the truth of what you are

I'm gonna take three
minutes for the I2 mantra.

Just allow your mind to go still

I was born with mystical gifts I learned to hide from a world that wasn't ready, the weird kid teaching Samadhi at slumber parties while trying to make sense of being different. Almost a decade in formal healing training, a graduate of the Barbara Brennan Collage of Healing. Five years on a Chicago medical team, healing what Western medicine couldn't touch. In 2009 I received Evolutionary Energetics, yet discovering it and embodying it are completely different. I've done the messy work: dissolved my ego, healed my deepest patterns, trusted guidance I couldn't see when everything rational screamed not to. I'm not a guru with all the answers. I'm a real person who happened to be born remembering cosmic truth, walked the uncomfortable path of living it, and learned how to make it practical.

Raised with logic and science, I started as the ultimate skeptic. In my AI PhD program, I discovered that human vision and cognition is controlled hallucination; we literally make up reality. After years in software architecture and management roles leading organizational transformations, the pattern became clear: the consciousness of the leader creates culture, culture creates outcomes. I hit the truth: I was the limiting factor in every change initiative. Meeting Audree transformed everything as our opposite approaches unlocked something extraordinary. Through 100+ leadership trainings, we didn't create this work, we received it, download by download, in an unfolding evolutionary process. I've done the messy work: learned to trust direct experience over logic, followed guidance that made no rational sense. I'm not a guru with all the answers. My passion is the mechanics of creation. I'm the bridge between worlds, translating cosmic downloads into step-by-step practical tools.
