The Part of the Hero's Journey Nobody Shows You
Audree: I like that song.
Once there was a way to get back home
Michael: Homewards.
Audree: Homewards
Michael: When I was a teenager, I remember
when I was a teenager I had an argue
with my brother about whether it was once
there was a way to get back home or once
there was a way to get back homewards.
And it actually is homewards is
the actual lyric in the song.
Audree: Well, what's homewards?
Michael: And then, and then, and then
it, then the second part of it is
once there was a way to get back home.
So it's both.
Audree: Right.
And then it's, "Sleep little
darling, don't you cry."
Michael: Mm-hmm.
" Audree: I will sing a lullaby."
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: Oh, we're gonna carry that way.
Isn't it carry that way?
Michael: A long time.
Audree: A long time.
Michael: Thank you, Beatles.
Audree: Well, they did
study with Maharishi.
Michael: They sure did.
Audree: That must have been profound, huh?
Michael: Mm-hmm
Because there wasn't even stuff
really around in, you know, the
memes and pop culture or anything
like that or for any of this-
Audree: Mm-mm
⦠Michael: what is there now.
This is, like, really
ahead of the, the curve.
Audree: Yeah.
I think somebody, I think it was
Mia Farrow who introduced him to
the Maharishi, but I don't know.
Michael: I guess there was stuff
going on 'cause people were doing
psychedelics and stuff like that.
Well- And so that opened up a whole-
Audree: There was also- ⦠exploration
of consciousness ⦠a huge, uh,
transcendental meditation movement in
England at the time, and somebody had
donated their estate to Maharishi-
Michael: Oh
⦠Audree: to do the city program.
It was the, one of the
very first city programs.
So there would b- had been, umâ¦
You know, they would've had
access to a lot of people with
a lot of power and influence.
Right.
Michael: Yeah.
Interesting.
Audree: Yeah.
Michael: That's where we
all are on the journey home.
Well, it's not really a journey
home 'cause you already are there.
It's just you don't think you are.
W- why
Audree: did I wanna do a podcast?
'Cause I
Michael: was- I don't know
⦠Audree: I was saying nobody talks about
the journey, like the hero's journey
or the transformational journey,
how flippin' uncomfortable it is.
Michael: Yeah.
I was thinking, like, a title
of this podcast, I don't know if
it'll turn out that way, is like,
you know, We're in the Shit Now.
So,
Audree: so
as the she have explained to us,
it's the caterpillar goes into the
chrysalis and completely melts,
and then it turns into a butterfly.
And nobody shares how fucking
uncomfortable that is to be melting,
and there's nothing to hold onto.
And
Michael: not only that-
Audree: There's no structure,
no identity, nothing
⦠Michael: not only that, the caterpillar,
the caterpillar doesn't know-
Audree: That's why we have
to move, by the way, PS.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Michael: The caterpillar
doesn't know the journey.
Audree: No.
The
Michael: caterpillar doesn't know
what it means to be a butterfly.
Even though it's, you know, just
one phase of its own being, the
caterpillar being a larva of, you
know, the butterfly being the mature
form, it, it doesn't know what that is.
It's just going through the journey.
And, and that's a, that's a really
beautiful metaphor for all of us, is that-
Audree: I'm melting.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: It's like the Wicked Witch.
Yeah.
I'm melting.
And then it's like, oh
shit, I don't wanna melt.
That's where I am
Michael: So, so the place where we've
gotten to is this really weird place where
it's like this sense of my whole body is
burning up and completely melting and,
and at the same time, it's just all okay.
Like, it's, it's the weirdest
s- state experientially, right?
Like, everyone thinks, "Oh, I
get to go to this bliss state.
Everything will be wonderful andâ¦"
You know, and it's just like, no.
No, that's not.
Yeah.
That's just an experience to, like, you
know, keep you going on the journey.
But, but yeah.
I mean, it's gonna get there
eventually and, and, and there-
Audree: Well, there's, there ⦠I
mean, so it feels to me like, you know,
the background radiation of ur- Mm-hmm
that was before-
Mm-hmm ⦠has transitioned.
The ba- my background
radiation is now a bliss state.
Michael: Mm.
Audree: Which is the opposite
And so the mind tries to come in.
I mean, yesterday was a big one.
It was our anniversary yesterday,
nine years anniversary when we got
married in the temple in India.
And I know, like, oh
It was like that same moment that I
had no idea what was gonna happen,
but I knew it was gonna be good.
But we had no idea.
We had no idea the journey
that we were gonna go on.
We couldn't even have imagined.
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: But it was just this state
of, like, we just met, everything was
beautiful, the temple was gorgeous
We knew something special was happening
And right now,
I know it's exactly nine years.
It's a ni- n- nine is
the last number in a cycle, and
so I know that the cycle is ending
And there's and, you know,
intuitively it's kind of like you
and I both, we didn't celebrate.
I was like randomly got some
flowers for us, but we did not
celebrate the ending of a cycle.
We did not celebrate
The beautiful nine years
that we had together.
It's like complete avoidance.
Why?
I mean, we are definitely
in the chrysalis.
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: We are ⦠Everything is melting.
And even the ⦠She said our identity,
what we did before, what came before.
I mean, I've been having
experiences of this kind of, um
life review and having so much gratitude-
Michael: Mm
⦠Audree: beyond, beyond, beyond
And not just this lifetime,
other lifetimes as well.
Like, this is a, this is
not just a nine-year cycle.
This feels bigger than that.
The whole thing.
The whole kit and caboodle
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: And maybe that's
what I'm pissed off about
It's like I wanna recognize and celebrate
But that's also the mind coming in
and saying, "Hey, you know, why aren't
you doing it this way or that way?"
Or
And being in the, in that s- the
space of just truly uncomfortable
because there's nothing to hold onto.
Nothing
It's like cleaning out your house and
selling all your furniture that you're
attached to, that creates identity,
or all your clothes, and all you wear
is like jeans and a white T-shirt
And nobody, nobody talks about
this part of the hero's journey
They skipped that step.
I wonder why
Michael: Well, you know, in the movies
Audree: You can't show everything.
Like, you don't show them going
to the bathroom, but of course
they take a bathroom break.
Michael: Yeah, in the movies, you
know, it's all like, you know, the,
this dramatic episode and, you know,
everyone, you know, you watch it and
then your mind engages in the suspense
of it and the fear gets activated and,
you know, then, then that passes, right?
Or there's this trial and
that trial and then it's over.
But I think the, the, you know, I
don't ⦠It, it's almost like the real
experience is like watching the paint dry.
It's like not like a, "Oh,
dramatic episode done."
It's like more like, you know, it's
like running- Crickets ⦠it's
really like running the marathon.
Like it's the, it's the
Audree: Right,
Michael: there's a- The ongoing-
Audree: And there's a point in the
marathon where there's, nobody's cheering
you on, like in the ultra-marathon.
There's nobody cheering you on.
It's just you by yourself.
' Michael: Cause it's, you
know, 3:00 AM or whatever.
Audree: There's no runners around you.
Nobody's giving you water- Uh-huh
or supporting you.
It's just you and your mind
Michael: Sounds great, right?
And I think that's really the
thing there is 'cause, you
know, why are, why are we here?
Why is anyone here?
It's 'cause it--
we're saying yes to our own being.
We're saying yes to loving ourself enough
to move beyond the self-hatred,
move beyond the fear
move beyond the, the ongoing malaise
and destructive patterning of, of
what we're experiencing in our life.
That's really the, the, the yes, and so
that's what, that's what-- That's why
the mind has nothing to play here, is
because there's this call within our being
This call within our being of yes
Yes, I wanna move beyond this.
Yes, I want to have the
peace, the joy, the bliss.
Yes, I want to have an extraordinary life.
Yes, I want to have the abundance
And that's what, that's what it is.
And it, it's really, you know,
it's becoming very, very clear
how the, the, the, the depth of
this whole journey is about choice
But what do we choose?
And, you know, I love that line
in, in the, uh, at the end of the
second Matrix movie where, you
know, the s- the super agent, Mr.
Anderson, or maybe it's the third.
I think it's the second, is fighting
and, you know, Neo, you know,
they're fighting and fighting and
fighting and, you know, it looks
like Neo's, like, just not gonna win.
Like, he's gonna lose.
And then, and then Neo gets up
again from being knocked down
and then he goes, "Why, Mr.
Anderson?
Why do you keep on going?"
And then Neo goes, "'Cause I choose to."
Because I choose to.
And that, that moment captures
the essence of the entire journey.
And the only reason is because an
aspect of your being that loves
yourself enough to say, "I choose this.
I choose to go beyond.
I choose to go beyond this limitation.
I choose to go beyond the, the,
the, uh, the enslavement to the low
frequencies that I've been born into."
I don't know where this is going.
I don't know where it's gonna take me.
I mean, we could even tie in the, the
movie Inception here, where, you know,
there's this incantation that, um,
the protagonist and his wife, Molly,
would use to represent ending the, the
misperceived dream of, of suffering and
ongoing challenge to go beyond into a
place that they couldn't understand.
And that's what this journey is.
It's, it's saying yes.
It's the choice to say yes to
the call within your being To
say, "I want something different.
I don't know where, what it is.
I don't know where this is gonna take me.
I just know I want it, and this is
the choice that I choose for myself."
And that's what the yes is.
That's what the choice is.
And again, it's not like a one and done.
You know, we make, make the choice on some
days and not on others, and use the tools
or don't use the tools, or continue or
stop or ⦠But once we started to turn,
there's an inevitability to it, 'cause
there's something in our being that is
calling us there, that will always be
calling us there, no matter what the mind
says, no matter what distraction happens,
'cause the mind won and, you know, won
that round or, or so- seemingly won.
Because the truth is that you
already are that, and we're
just awakening to that truth.
And it's just a matter of timing.
And so I guess this is a ⦠You
know, I'm just realizing there's
a message of reassurance here.
If you've already started the turn
towards understanding what and
who you are, it is inevitable.
It is just inevitable.
It will happen.
That's guaranteed by the
mechanics of creation.
And you, you really, what we're
choosing is, what do we want
that journey to look like?
Do we want it to be filled with struggle?
Do we want it to be of ease?
What do we want it to be like?
And that's really the choice
that we're making about how we
create our own reality, in a way.
Wow, that was a lot, huh?
That was interesting.
Audree: That was really beautiful.
Michael: Where did that come from?
Thank you, guides.
' Audree: Cause you have, you
have more discipline than I do.
You know what I realized?
That Inception movie- Mm-hmm ⦠every
time I watch it, I fall asleep at the end.
Wow.
I've never seen the end of that movie
Michael: The, the whole point of the
whole movie is to get to the end.
Audree: Yeah.
' Michael: Cause that's where the
whole, everything collapses.
We can watch it if you want.
Audree: I was thinking about
that, and then I was like, "Oh,
but I'll just fall asleep."
Michael: Well, if we start
earlier, that's a safeguard.
Audree: Yeah.
Michael: If you hold the
intention, you'll be fine.
Audree: It's a long movie.
Michael: I think it's about three hours,
Audree: I think.
Mm-hmm.
Michael: Maybe we can watch
the real one instead of the
⦠Audree: The One Who Wakes.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: Yeah.
Although, maybe we should
watch The One Who Wakes.
Michael: We'll feel into it.
Either one's fine.
For me, I have so much of the
commentary burned in my memory,
like it almost doesn't matter if
I, which version I watch anymore
Audree: Me too.
Michael: Yeah.
So there you go.
Thank you, John Mark Stroud.
Audree: So I think we've said this before,
and we'll say it again because this is,
seems to be the mechanics of evolution,
is that it's only a real yes in those
darkest times, those hopeless moments
where you think you can't go any further.
You can't take that next step.
It seems like all is lost.
That's when it's a real yes,
and you still keep going
Michael: Yeah, there's this
beautiful segment from the movie
The Lord of the Rings where Sam
and Frodo are in, uh, Osgiliath,
just on the outskirts of Gondor.
And, uh, you know, the orcs are
attacking and, you know, the ring
wraiths has come by and, and then, you
know, they, they've, they've actually
backtracked a whole distance on their
journey because they were captured
by the Gondorian scouts and so on.
And, uh, and then y- you know,
Frodo's really feeling the weight
of the whole journey and saying, "I
don't know if we can do this, Sam.
I don't know if we can,
can make this journey."
Audree: Oh, we play that clip.
Michael: Yeah, we play that
for our students, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
It's such a real- it's a really profound-
Audree: Yeah, it is
⦠Michael: a- a- and, and you know,
Samwise says, "Well, we choose
to," 'cause that's what the, all
the, the stories of the heroes are.
You're talking about the hero's journey.
Mm-hmm.
It's the ones who kept on going
even though they didn't know if they
had the strength or even if they
didn't know if they'd be successful.
They just go on.
And he said, "Well, what do we hold onto?"
It's, well, we hold onto each other.
Mm-hmm.
We hold on to each other.
And you know, I think coming back to
that topic of our anniversary, it's
like, well, that's part of our, our,
our purification process is letting go
of that, is letting the cycle of, of
that relationship between us complete.
Not in the sense of, you know,
for me, it's not in a sense
of, okay, well that's the end.
It's more like that's the end of
that stage of the journey which was
all based on how we were functioning
within the lower frequencies, within
the deviated frequencies, within the,
the relationship based on the mind.
And so for me it's like a great
celebration of what it was, and a
celebration of it, of the ending of that
phase so that something new can open
up that I don't even know what it is.
M- and at the same time, I know it'll
be much more extraordinary because
of the, the frequencies we're in, so.
Audree: Yeah.
And-
Michael: So it's not even
holding onto each other.
Let, let me finish.
So it's not even holding onto each other,
which is what, what's in the movie.
It's holding onto our
own yes for our own self.
And it's not even about the other
being, 'cause the other being's just a
representation for loving our own self.
Audree: Then why ignore that?
Why not acknowledge that?
It's- That's what I, that's what I'mâ¦
I think that's what I'm complaining if
I'm gonna complain about, about something.
It's like
It was silent yesterday.
That, you know, beautiful
piece that you just said
Wasn't there
Michael: Well, so- It
Audree: wasn't there for both of us
Michael: Well, so for me it was there,
and I mean, I'm just saying what if it
were true that I was a yes to create
whatever it is that you wanted to create,
but it was only your belief that I wasn't
that stopped that from happening 'cause
you wanted to have that experience?
Well, the qu-
Audree: I guess the question is,
is that why would you choose that?
Why would you choose to stay silent?
Michael: Well, so there's this interesting
paradox because there, there's this
place of, of, you know, and this is
the, you know, working through all
the control patterns and relationships
and all these, you know, deviated
structures of patterning of, you know,
just holding this, this attempt of,
of, of intention of, of freeing you
to, to be you and to do what you do.
And so, you know, I, I've
had this awareness of
Of, uh
Yeah, so I think, you know, just looking
back at it, it's, there's more I could
have done to initiate, and I was just, I
was just letting, like, it's like, okay,
well, you know, okay, I'm free now, and
it's like, you know, you're, you're in the
middle of w- watching your, your Scottish
Uh, drama or whatever, and it's
like, it could be like, okay, that
you stop and say, "Okay, great.
Well, what do we do now?
Are weâ¦"
Like, there's ⦠But it doesn't
feel like there's an entry point.
Like, I mean, I, I, I mean, I-
it would be an interrupt to kind
of ⦠And maybe you go, "Oh, you
should just interrupt, and it's fine."
And it's like, well, you know,
that's where there's a, you know,
the sound of, you know, a co-creation
of whatever that r- that reality is.
And, you know, from my perspective,
it's just creating an experience
of whatever needed to be
experienced to allow whatever's
going on to, to be released, so.
Audree: Well, why would you create that?
I mean, it goes both ways.
Yeah.
It's like, "Oh, I'm creating
this, and you're not."
That's not true, 'cause
you're creating it too.
So that- Well, I said
Michael: co-creation.
That's, that's- I say co-creation, so- We
Audree: were co-creating.
Yeah, so- We were co-creating this,
you know, uh, uh, uh, instead of
celebrating the nine years that we had
been together and all that had occurred.
It's like there's this
shutoff in both of us-
Michael: Mm-hmm
⦠Audree: happening.
Instead of confronting the shut
off itself and, and, and saying,
"Hey, what's going on here?"
I don't mean to me saying that to me
or me saying that to you, but it's to
also just to recognize yesterday you
and I both were completely shut off
To the recognition of and
celebration of the, of the cycle.
And, and at the same time, I, I just have
an inkling that it's because it would h-
it, it would- there's a real, you know,
when you speak out loud, it makes it real
Michael: Mm.
Audree: Of the, the end of a cycle.
Michael: Mm.
Audree: And so it was both of
us that chose not to address
It wasn't just me
Michael: Mm-hmm.
I agree
Audree: And it's just interesting
You know, we're not
taught how to end cycles.
We fear death, we fear transformation.
Michael: Hmm.
There's this really
beautiful line, uh, where
Ra Uru Hu was talking about
the mechanics of creation.
And there are all these quarters
that that govern that govern,
govern the mechanics of, of, of,
you know, all the, all the gates.
There are four quarters, and the
last quarter, the fourth quarter,
is, uh, basically the gate of death,
and all there is to do there is die
And, uh, and that's the part that
because there's this mind and ego
consciousness seeking certainty, the
letting go, the death, that there's, umâ¦
Oh, it's like there's the, I'm just
seeing this mechanic right now.
Like, there's a blockage in
creation that comes from being
in the deviation where there's a,
there's a refusal of, of cycles.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
We see this even with our students-
Right ⦠where we say, "Well, look, you
know, your, your state of being is gonna
go up, and then it's gonna go down,"
and, like, we're, our job is not to
con- try to stay always in an up cycle.
Our job is to flow
through what is happening.
Right.
Audree: Right?
Ride the wave.
Michael: Yeah, ride the wave.
Even if- And not
Audree: res- ⦠it's on a down-
N- ⦠downward spiral ⦠not
Michael: resist being in a down cycle.
Yeah.
Not try to, like, stick to an up cycle.
And so, so I'm just
getting this mechanic now.
That's what the, the real challenge
that we have as beings is, and
this is the whole programming.
Like, I'm just seeing it all now- Yeah
of like, oh, well, I should just be happy.
Like, the goal is to
be happy all the time.
The goal, I, I, I mean, like,
Audree: on the whole- In an
enlightened state all the time.
Michael: Well, that's gonna happen
eventually, so, but, you know,
that's, that's a different thing.
I know, but people are
Audree: chasing- But that's, but
Michael: that's
Audree: escap-
Michael: but that's escaping
the whole mechanic of
Audree: the system
right, you're chasing it instead of
allowing the, the, the, the, the flow.
Michael: Right.
The way to get there is to go
through the flow of the up and
down again and again and again-
Audree: Mm ⦠and again
and again and again.
'Cause even na- nature, if
you look at it, is a cycle.
Or you could, you know, they, they
use the metaphor breathing in and out.
Michael: Well, there
we go that's the reason
Audree: Well, I have a lot of
gratitude for the last nine years
Michael: I have ⦠So do I.
It's been extraordinary
Audree: It has
Michael: And I have no idea what
the, the next nine will bring
Audree: No, I
Michael: have- It's, it's like-
Audree: I have none.
I think I can't even look forward
Well, there's nothing- It's nothing's
allowing me to look forward There's
nothing So the only thing I can do is
assess and reflect and just feel into
That's what- Like- I
was talking about that.
It was, it, it feels, when you
ask me what's going on, it's like
I've been having a couple weeks
of really having profound states
of gratitude for what came before.
Let's just- And let, and letting go.
Michael: Let's rewind 'cause the
anniversary we're talking about is,
is I think, uh, February, July, so
five months after we met, we, we had
this marriage ceremony in, in the
temple in India at Oneness University.
And, um, like if you go back then-
Audree: Seven months
⦠Michael: two, July is- Oh,
Audree: six months.
It was e- almost exactly
six months ⦠February
Michael: is two, July is seven.
Audree: I, I always say- I get
five ⦠that we met February 14th.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: But we didn't meet February 14th.
Yeah.
We met February 15th.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: I just heard your voi- you
singing at the party that I didn't
Michael: go to.
At the only one party that,
that was ever had at the campus.
Audree: That I didn't go to
'cause I was like, I had jet lag.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: But I could
hear everybody singing.
Yeah.
And I heard you singing, um-
Michael: What?
Crazy Little Thing Called Love?
Audree: Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Michael: Yeah.
Yeah.
Audree: I was like, "Who is that guy?
Stop it."
Michael: Perfect.
So what I was getting at is if,
you know, we went back in time,
let's just do that now for fun.
Mm-hmm.
And we told, "Okay, hey, Audrey, Michael,
this is what's gonna unfold for you."
Audree: That would ruin the surprise.
Michael: Right?
Like how could it work?
I mean, it would just, it'd, yeah.
I mean, like, it just-
Audree: First of all,
I wouldn't believe it.
Michael: Yeah, I'd be like, "What?
Come on."
Audree: Yeah.
Michael: Give me a break.
Audree: Oh, really?
I would say that, too.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: You see, w- um, people don't
understand we had an arranged marriage.
We were not each other's types.
Although I was who you were looking
for, and you were who I was looking for
Michael: Yeah, it's the weirdest thing.
It has nothing to do with the mind.
Audree: Uh-uh.
Yeah
The universe arranged our marriage.
But I had a dream about
you when I was four.
I didn't have that realization until like
Eight years into our marriage,
seven years into our marriage Yeah
I was like, "Oh my God, you're him."
Michael: And then you resist
Yeah.
You know, message from, message from
all creation and all those indicators.
Yeah, it doesn't matter.
I gotta go do this other thing.
Mm-hmm.
It's perfect.
Yeah.
So, so, so what I feel like that is like
it's si- similar for the next nine years.
It's like there's no, there's no
way we can even remotely conceive-
Hmm
of what will unfold
And, you know, so that's
an interesting place to be.
So what does it mean to be comfortable?
Think about this, dear
listeners, in your life.
What does it mean to have
no idea what will unfold
Audree: You know, re-
remind- And can you let go?
Michael: Yeah, remind you
of the story of the branch.
You know, the guy falls off the
cliff, and he's hanging by a branch,
and he goes, "Is anyone there?
Anyone there?"
And he's calling and calling, and he's
getting tired and tired, and he says,
"Okay, God, you know, I know we haven't
been on the best terms, but, you know,
if you can save me, you know, um, you
know, you know, I'll, I'll do whatever
you tell me just, just save me."
So God, booming voice, goes, "Let go."
And the person goes, "Oh, okay, I've,
I've heard this message from, from God.
I just need to let go."
And then they go, "Anybody else out there?
Anyone?
Anyone?"
Audree: Exactly.
Right, 'cause that's
what nobody tells you.
How completely uncomfortable it is that
there is no structure to hold onto.
And if you think about it, the clothes
that you wear, the food that you eat
Your identity and who you are is
wrapped up in every little minute
thing that you don't even recognize.
And so when you're in that complete
shattering, the complete destruction,
Shiva comes in, destroys everything
creation, new creation can only
happen when everything is gone.
And we've gone through
that, what's it called?
That basket thing.
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: That astrological event.
All of your identity gone.
Has to be.
How can you step into any new identity
or a new way of being, a new way
of functioning if the old is there?
Everything about the career,
there were four pillars.
Mm.
Do you remember what they were?
Identity.
Michael: Career.
Audree: Career.
Michael: Relationship.
Audree: Relationship, yeah.
What else?
Yeah.
What was the fourth one?
Michael: Doesn't matter.
Audree: No, it does, 'cause if
we can't remember it, that's the
thing that we're holding onto.
Can you look it up?
There are four pillars that are
holding you into who you are
as an incarnated being
Michael: There's no
easy way to look it up?
Audree: Yeah, there is.
The, the f- four pillars of the, is
it the Balt's basket or something?
Michael: bar bolts basket
or called the cradle
Yeah, this is not really theâ¦
It, it sa- it go, it just goes like
Leo represents growth, opportunity, big
ideas, the urge to take a, a leap of
faith, deep systematic transformation,
rebuilding society's foundations.
It's not, not the real realist
Or the correct list, it's the kind of
the distorted, misinterpreted version
Audree: While he's looking it up,
um, I'm being reminded of, uh, Ramana
Maharshi's, um, his transformation
Michael: Here we go.
Forbes is letting go
Keep on going
Audree: Okay.
Zed, I think he was 16, and he had
this sudden unreasonable fear of death
And
that whole entire incident, that
event that happened to him was
the very thing that he walked
through and became enlightened.
And what happened was, is that
he started to question who
is this aspect of my being?
What is this aspect of my being
that has this unreasonable fear?
I'm not dying.
And to, I guess, to the point where
he laid on the floor in his room and
said, "Okay, if I'm gonna die, I'm
gonna, I'm gonna walk all the way
through this, this fear of death."
And in doing so, I think ⦠I, I
don't know the whole story, but in
doing so, he realized that the mind
was this aspect that was tricking
him and, and, and causing him to be
afraid of death for no apparent reason.
Mm.
And from that moment on, he, y-
you know, he left his home, he left
everything, and as a 16-year-old boy,
went into the temple and would sit in
stillness, in complete stillness, to the
point where the bugs were eating him,
and, you know, and, and even the, the
priests were like, "Get out of here.
Get out.
You're not, you know, you're
not supposed to be here."
And he, and he just wouldn't move.
And I guess at some point they recognized
that, that he had m- attained a, a
state of, of being where he overcame.
You know, he didn't eat
He left everything behind and he was
just in this mystical state of samadhi.
And in India, they recognize
that as attainment.
Michael: Hmm.
So do you want the, uh, the, with the-
Audree: Mm-hmm.
Michael: Yeah.
Okay.
The, so the, uh, the four elements.
Burning out of identity,
physical environment structures-
Mm-hmm
⦠all relationship, all your
connections to all people
All your connections to your past, your
experience all the people that you've
either given your power away to or
have hooked into you to take your power
Audree: Is that our, is that our?
Michael: That's the,
that's the transcript.
Audree: Oh, that's the transcript.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: Got it, 'cause I was like-
I'm reading from the transcript
⦠waiting a minute, that's our work.
Michael: I'm reading from
the transcript, yeah.
Got it.
'Cause the, the other one did, it was
like, "Eh, this plan is about this," and
Audree: it wasn't, it was not,
uh- Yeah, yeah, what you find
Michael: on Google doesn't really- Yeah
Audree: tell you what's going on.
And it's interesting too, 'cause we
started this process of complete,
complete transformation, like the last
stage of moving into the chrysalis and
completely melting, just unconsciously,
just ⦠It was just this happening.
You know, I remember a few weeks
ago just waking up in the middle
of the night, and I had complete
I had, I, like, woke up, had a
spontaneous life review, and then
just had this complete letting go
and gratitude of everything and
everyone that happened in my life.
And I just remember it was spontaneous.
So we've been moving through these,
these complete dissolving, and then
we started doing these processes of
Even though even in our work
in the last few years has been
moving into taking our power back-
The letting go or the canceling
and annulling all vows, contracts,
and pledges of allegiance to
experiences that we've had, people
that we've been in relationship
with, the take back ceremonies.
I mean, these, we've been doing these for
a very long time, yet right now is where
we understand the significance of it.
Michael: Mm.
Audree: Why we've been doing
what we've been doing, why we've
had these spontaneous processes,
why we created these techniques.
Like, you know, I think that's
the brilliance and the beauty of
the, the time that we've spent
together, the nine-year cycle.
We've been moving through these events
And transformational experiences that have
been spontaneous, and then recognizing the
importance of them, and then turning them
into parts of our, our courses, yet not
truly understanding the full significance
until right now, until this moment.
And I mean, even you can think a few
weeks ago, the Shi were like, "Oh, we're
You're in a 30-day training program,"
not understanding that there was
this astrological event that aligned
with everything that we were doing.
Michael: That was about halfway through.
They go, "Surprise."
Audree: They didn't even say that.
I saw it on, like, YouTube or something.
Michael: Yeah, that's 'cause they
were preparing you for the, the
session, or they explained it.
Audree: It's like you have to
understand it, and, and I think that's
the miraculous part of all of this,
is that we haven't read any books.
It's not like we see something
or we read something and then we
do this transformation process.
It's the ⦠It's always been the
other way around, is that we've
been thrown into a portal or thrown
into a transformation process
spontaneously and after we come out or
while we're in it, it's like we have this
information that comes in of why it's
happening, but it's not beforehand
It's after the fact
And, and remember last year
how the, all this started?
We had hired this guy to do
this marketing, and he came
here, and we workshopped,
like, who are we as a business?
You know, what are we really selling here?
And we didn't know.
Still don't know, but it, it's kind
of like at the time we didn't know
And what it led to was this putting
on our website right, right when
you get to beevolutionary.com,
it was like-
Michael: Oh, that's where
we came up Be Evolutionary
⦠Audree: Right.
That's where we came up
with beevolutionary.com,
and then the website said,
"What if it were true?
You are creating your reality."
And then we said, "Well, if
we're gonna put this on our
website, we have to live this."
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: And we had been living
it this whole entire time.
I mean, that's, you know, it's
also been the anniversary of, of
my son when he became paralyzed.
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: This is it.
This is the time.
'Cause it happened in the beginning
of June, and it was the end of
July and he was still paralyzed.
Mm-hmm.
And he was ⦠Actually, they thought
that the staph infection had come back,
and they were, you know, and that whole
entire event happened where I was like,
"How am I create, how am I creating this?
Why am I creating this?
If it's true that I create my
reality, then let's stop this."
So we've been in this program, this
evolutionary program spontaneously
Michael: It's a setup.
Remember, remember when we first met and,
and you were going through something,
and I said, "Well, I'll, I'll only help
you move through this if you're ⦠Are
you ready to go all the way through?"
Audree: Mm-hmm.
Michael: The prophetic question, which
has, you know, been the, I guess,
really the question for, for both of us.
Audree: And it's still even yesterday.
Yeah, right?
Are you ready to go all the way through?
And I was like- And you're like,
"No" ⦠that's what I said this morning
to you when we were doing our check-in.
It was ⦠It's like I feel like I'm like,
you know, 98% melted, completely melted.
Everything is gone, and that
2% of me is like, "Wait,
wait, I'm, I was just kidding.
I'm not dead yet.
Stop."
And it's like, it's like when you're
going into the vat of toxic material,
you fall into the vat, and you're
totally transforming, and it's like
your arm is sticking out going,
"Wait, no, I was just kidding.
I didn't really mean it."
That's what it feels like.
Michael: Yeah.
Audree: Good times.
It's like that's what I'm saying.
It's so fucking uncomfortable, and
it's like And the perfect setup.
Like think about it.
We've been divinely, or maybe that's not
even the right word anymore- It's not
the right word ⦠because it's a D word.
We've been miraculously
blessed to have nothing to do
Except to sit around and go
through a transformation process.
We have food, shelter, clothing.
We're completely ⦠Although,
at the same time, we're being
asked to let go of all of it.
Michael: Mm.
Audree: I mean, you guys, if
you saw the house that we live
in, and we have to let go of it.
Our relationship, let go of it
All that came before
this moment, let go of it
And the mind has nowhere to go.
And the mind is like the last vestige
trying to hold on to some sort of identity
Michael: Some sort of structure
Audree: Some sort of structure
Michael: Some sort of illusion of
control Some se- some self-deception
Audree: That's why people
don't go through this.
They're like, "What are you crazy?
I'm not doing that."
Well,
Michael: in all fairness
In all fairness, knowing the mechanics,
um, everybody else gets it easier
by a factor of about 10 or 100.
That's what I know from
what we've seen so far.
Because once the trail's
blazed, it, it's kind ofâ¦
It's wide open.
Like the, the last academy session,
like in-person academy session-
Audree: Oh, wow.
The how,
Michael: how well-
Audree: It was so powerful
⦠Michael: like what, what actually
happened was- Mm-hmm ⦠far, far
beyond anything that we'd planned and-
Audree: It actually left all
of our students kind of like
A little dumbfounded.
Like, what's happening here?
Michael: Well, we, we ⦠I
mean, we were like,
" Audree: What?"
Because we were like, "What?"
Michael: Yeah, yeah.
And so, so the truth is we don't really
know, you know, why don't we call them
our, you know, crash test Jedis, right?
For Jedi school.
You know?
The truth is we're, we're the actual
crash test Jedis, 'cause we're, we're
saying yes, we're going on the journey,
and then finding out what the journey is.
Audree: At least we have each other.
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Well, that's what it was,
kind of, it was yesterday.
Not kind of.
What it w- it was even letting go of that.
Audree: Yeah.
Michael: Right?
Audree: That's what
Michael: I
Audree: mean,
Michael: that we- Or, or even letting
go of like, well, you know, like this
whole journey's been built on, on
us going on the journey together and
supporting each other on the journey,
and the journey happening together.
And what does it mean to let go of that?
And that's for me the, the, uh ⦠You
know, that was a, that was interesting.
Audree: Yeah.
Michael: And it's really this- That was
uncomfortable ⦠this structure of,
of, of, of fear, which is actually just
excitement for what comes after and what
comes next and what's beyond imagination
And that's where I got to this place
this morning of really understanding
that the mind, it, it's just safekeeping.
It just-- Like, it's, it's like this,
uh, yeah, it's, it's safekeeping all the
goodness that's possible for us in our
life, all the bliss, all the joy, all the
excitement, all the wonder, everything.
It's holding it for us until
we're sure we're ready for it.
Until we're sure, "Yeah, I'm,
I'm, I'm, I-- You know what?
I'm done with the fear."
I-- And everyone, you know, the mind can
say, "Oh, I'm done with it now," right?
I mean, the, the thing is,
the level of done- Are you
Audree: really?
Michael: You don't-- The, the, there's
a, there's a level of doneness that you
can't imagine while you're still in it.
You think, "Ah, Iâ¦"
You know, you probably may be thinking
right now, "I'm really done with it."
Okay, well, we're talking about to a, a
level of done that's beyond that, what
you understand of, of done, so, umâ¦
And it's not even that.
It's, you know, I was-- remember, uh,
one time when I was this, you know,
maybe 15 years ago, when I was this
toxic consultant working, you know,
helping people with Agile and, and
just so kind of drinking the Kool-Aid
and evangelistic and, and so on.
This is before I had the, uh,
the teachings that we now teach.
And, uh, I remember this one
guy said to me, he says, "Look,
you can't, you can't help an
organization unless you care for it."
Right?
And, uh, and the stance that I had that
time was feeling like I was, you know,
behind enemy lines, you know, under,
under bombardment, and I needed air cover.
It was like, it was really this, you
know, confrontational perspective.
And, and really, that's the
relationship we have with our minds,
this adversarial conflict perspective.
And, and when we have that perspective,
y- there's no way we can help the mind
move to a new understanding of creation.
And that what's been coming over the
last few days is this really, this, you
know, we have to hold within us this deep
love of our own being, not at the level
of mind, but the level of beingness.
And from that, then we can hold the
mind in that, that love of beingness,
regardless of what it's doing.
It's like loving the child no matter
what, no matter what, what's happening.
And from that place, that's where the-- it
feels like in my being this final, final
alignment and of, of the mind is what's
happening because there's this aspect
of my being that's so stable, so open,
free of judgment, offering love, that
the mind's just kinda going like, "Hmm?
Hmm?"
And like, really like-
The, the struggle, the, the choices
for all the, the lower frequencies,
they're, they're starting to just go,
"Oh, I don't need to do this anymore.
You're sure?
Okay."
You're sure?
Audree: Right?
The mind doesn't understand
that it has a new role to play-
Michael: Yeah
⦠Audree: in the transformation.
The mind doesn't go away.
Michael: Mm-hmm.
Audree: It's part of the
mechanics of creation.
Yeah.
Michael: Yeah.
Just gets reused
Audree: in a different way.
You know, I'm li- I'm ⦠As you speak,
I'm, I'm just really internalizing.
I can feel that, the conflict.
Michael: Oh, yeah.
Audree: The mind
You know, wanting to sabotage
everything, wanting to be in the
temper tantrum, wanting to, "No,
don't take it all away from me.
I'll have nothing."
And then there's this other aspect of
me that's just super quiet and still
Yeah.
Michael: It's interesting that,
uh ⦠We're coming up on time.
Mm-hmm.
But, you know, one, one fun, fun thing
is that you were saying, "Well, we're
sorry this is so uncomfortable," and
I was thinking like, "Jeez, can't
we just go to sleep for seven days
and have the whole thing be done?"
Like, this is like ⦠A- and, you know,
even, even like, uh, I don't know, like,
a few weeks ago they were saying, "Well,
you're accustomed to the challenge.
You're ⦠It is the custom to go through
this purification pro-" And it's true.
It's, it's, it's, it's like the, um, the
marathon runner, you know, gets accustomed
to saying, "Yes, I'm gonna keep going."
Right.
" Yes, I'm gonna keep going.
Yes, my mind is saying no and
my body is feeling this, and
yes, I'm gonna keep going."
Audree: It's like the three days
of darkness that they talk about
in the book Revelations, which
I've never read, by the way.
They ⦠But there's this thing, oh,
there's gonna be three days of darkness.
You have to be prepared because
the whole entire world outside's
gonna be panicking, you know?
And can you sit in that three days
of darkness not knowing, hearing
the, the screams of torment, and not
And can you hold the- Mm-hmm ⦠state
of n- of no fear in that darkness?
And it feels like that to me is what
this, this, this aspect of the journey
is, is like the three days of darkness.
Although it's not dark
But there's, it's empty.
There's so much nothingness, and
there's this requirement of letting
go of all that I knew beforehand
Michael: Hmm
Audree: So it's not actually dark yet
There's like, can you sit in
the void with no structure?
And the, she say that gratitude
Is the thing, is the technique, is
the ⦠But it's a real gratitude.
It's not a, "Oh, I'm so grateful for
this, th-," no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
It is beyond ⦠My teacher, uh, the monk
Kumarji in India, he used to say, "You
have no idea what gratitude really is."
He used to say that.
And they would teach these
five steps of gratitude.
But he would come to the last
step, and then he'd go, "Even
this is not it, you guys."
He's like, "You have no
idea what gratitude is
It's true.
We have some conception, concept, a mental
image of what gratitude is or a sense or
a feeling, yet there's something beyond
where really gra- the real gratitude is
Michael: It's an awareness,
an opening of awareness.
It's a frequency.
It's
⦠Audree: It's a frequency beyond the mind-
Michael: Mm-hmm
⦠Audree: where you can truly let go.
Like the Shis say, in the word
gratitude is the word gra-
gravity, and it's real gratitude.
You can let go of all structure.
Michael: Okay, lady, we're, we're getting-
Audree: Oh, yeah
Michael: Is there anything more?
Audree: That is it.
Mm.
That's what I wanna ⦠That's
where I wanna be right now.
Michael: Okay
Let's do that.
Three minutes.
Tune in
Thank you for joining us.
